NYC: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

We're on our way!

We made it! We walked out of Penn Station
and into Madison Square Garden.

Our hotel, The Roosevelt.
So nice and on 45th and Madison
which is walking distance to everything.

Eating a late dinner at Ciao.
Just a little Italian place we found on Bleecker Street.
Yummy pizza and insalata dolce.
That's fancy for salad with walnuts, avocado, pears, and Gorgonzola.

Saturday morning, our 11th anniversary.
Radio City Music Hall

Times Square
Larger than life. How many times did I
have to catch myself from falling over
from looking up so high?

Ahhh! My favorite New York moment.
The Broadway show...
In the Heights!
A.MAZ.ING
Shawn knew one of girls in the cast,
so we got the hook up on great seats and meeting some of the cast afterward.

We had to! You can't go to NYC and not have a hot dog in Central Park.

Some window shopping at Saks 5th Avenue.
Tres chic.

For all you NBC fans.

Enjoying a carriage ride through Central Park
on our anniversary night.
See Shawn having a very hard time keeping his mind off
of his sick mom and our kids being shuffled around
and Ethan probably reeking havoc on the poor Clarke's.

Our little Irish carriage driver took this pic
of the city peeking through the park.
Sunday afternoon at Battery Park.
Look closely and you can see the Statue of Liberty .
We had just come from Ground Zero, so feeling a little somber.Wow, I did not realize I was showing how I was feeling at this point.
Well, when a mama needs to get home to her babies....what can I say.
At this point we were ready to go, but had no idea
of the incredibly long night ahead of us.
New York really was great. You can get even more details here. We had some great food. A spotting of a fake Mick Jagger. Two GREAT shows (we also saw Blue Man Group on Friday night) and a really nice hotel.
It was unfortunate that our disappointment of things not going well at home put a damper on the weekend. Shawn worked really hard to earn that trip and put a lot of planning into going.
To top it off, he has midterms this week and needed some relaxing downtime.

Can stay-at-home moms earn trips away?
I should look into that.
Shawn needs another one already.

Wow, ya'll really did a lot! Stay-at-home mome should SO be able to earn trips, but we'd probably earn one every new tooth, sickness or exhausting VBS week so it probably wouldn't work out!
