Post-Surgery Day 2: Ava

Ava was born with a dermoid cyst above her left eye. It's fairly common and happens in utero when the skin is forming.
These cysts have to be removed because they are so close to the eye and because they can swell to be very large as a child sweats.
The surgery was performed by a great plastic surgeon who was kind and thorough.
Of course, Vandy Children's Hopsital rarely disappoints in the area of surgery so our experience was great.
Ava is doing great. No side effects and really no major swelling. Just trying to keep her from clocking herself on the noggin until the stitches come out next week.
